Farmers are seeing steady growth in their fields as we head into the heart of the season. Corn has emerged in 98% of fields nationwide. Some states are already ahead of that—Nebraska (100%), Minnesota (100%), and North Carolina (100%) are fully emerged. Corn silking has started in southern areas, with Texas leading at 67%, North Carolina at 48%, and Tennessee at 29%. Soybean planting is nearly done at 96% nationwide, and 90% of soybeans have emerged. States like Louisiana (99%) and Minnesota (97%) are keeping pace, while South Dakota (97%) and Iowa (96%) are holding strong as well. Blooming has begun in places like Louisiana (75%), Mississippi (55%), and Arkansas (58%).

Cotton planting is 92% complete across the 15 key states, with Arizona (100%), California (100%), and Missouri (100%) all finished. Squaring is happening in Georgia (37%), Louisiana (51%), and Arizona (66%). Sorghum is 84% planted nationwide, and Texas leads with 97% planted and 50% already headed. Rice heading is underway too, especially in Texas (35%) and Louisiana (50%). Winter wheat harvest is picking up, with Arkansas (70%) and Texas (70%) leading the way. Most fields are in good shape, with adequate moisture in many areas, although dry conditions continue in places like Kansas (5% very short, 16% short topsoil moisture) and Texas (6% very short, 20% short).
